Weima attend W8

W8, an integration of the Woodmex and ASFI exhibitions, provided a great opportunity for sourcing wood machinery, dust extraction, tooling, and components. The event was held at the NEC in Birmingham from 26th- 29th October 2008.

As the Northern Ireland distributor for Weima Stephen attended the event, and was on hand to advise and illustrate the advantages of the Weima waste reduction machinery and Fercell extraction and product finishing machinery.

The joint Fercell Engineering and Weima UK stand attracted a constant stream of visitors, with more than £55,000 in orders placed on the stand and several enquiries that are now being followed up.

"Companies are looking hard at ways to cut costs, and despite the general nervousness over the economy they are prepared to invest in technology that translates directly and quickly into savings. With the display of Weima shredders and briquetters and range of industrial wood-fired heating systems we were able to show visitors how they could manage their waste efficiently, reduce disposal, transport and landfill costs, and save on heating bills", said Mark Fletcher, managing director of Fercell.

The following Weima machines were demonstrated at W8:

  • Weima's WL1 single-shaft shredder- all-purpose, reliable shredder is for every type of wood waste. Robust construction, durable and they can be operated internally or outdoors.
  • WL8 single-shaft shredder - all-purpose, reliable shredder for softwood waste. With a large 1000mm long rotor and 1000mm x 1000mm hopper, large volumes of bulky waste can be processed.
  • Biber 400- suitable for the disposal of long pieces of wood waste such as off cuts from beam saws, and band re-saws.
  • C150 briquetting press, demonstrating waste volume reduction by up to 80%, producing 50mm briquettes.
  • 10-station automatic carousel for bagging – the carousel can automatically count the briquettes into each bag and direct to the next bag station when the bag is filled by the preset number of briquettes.
